Winnicott Society – Brazilian Society for Winnicottian Psychoanalysis

The Winnicott Society - Brazilian Society Winnicottian Psychoanalysis - fosters teaching, research, and publications in the area of Winnicottian psychoanalysis through its branches set up as Winnicott Centers and Winnicott Groups, as well as its Publishing House.  The Winnicott Society also promotes a collaboration and exchange program with several academic and psychoanalytic institutions from Brazil and abroad.

Those activities are developed in accordance with the interpretive line that has been developed since 1995 by Prof. Dr. Zeljko Loparic at PUCSP, as well as his students and collaborators at the Research Group in Philosophy and Psychotherapeutic Practice (GrupoFPP), which is registered with CNPq.

Teaching is held at the Winnicottian School of Psychoanalysis, which offers a Formation Course based on a common program according to the interpretive line of Winnicott's work mentioned above, with various Centers in charge of the disciplines, and an Advanced Formation Program.  Individual analysis and supervision is part of the formation program, as well as the Psychoanalysis Services (SAP) maintained by the Centers.

Research is done at the Centers and counts with the support of various Higher Education Institutions from Brazil.  Its results are made public in colloquia regularly held by the Centers, and thereafter submitted for publication in several journals, including our own.

Publications comprise a print format journal, Human Nature, two electronic journals, Heidegger e-Prints and Winnicott e-Prints, as well as various releases from our Publishing House.

The collaboration and exchange program makes use of contacts the partnerships established since 1995 by the GrupoFPP, as well as more recent relationships with Higher Education Institutions such as the University of Nijmegen (The Netherlands), PUC-SP, UFSM, UFRGS and Unicamp, several scientific societies (ANPOF's Heidegger Work Group and Work Group in Philosophy and Psychoanalysis, the Campinas Section of the Brazilian Kant Society, the Brazilian Society for Phenomenology), as well as psychoanalytic and psychotherapy groups such as the Winnicott Space from Rio de Janeiro, the Winnicott Institut from Hannover, the Squiggle Foundation from London, the Winnicott Group of Brussels and the École Française de Daseinsanalyse from Paris.
